Some of the foods we eat can cause us to have bad breath. Foods like garlic, onions, coffee or other types of spicy and smelly foods can leave us with an unpleasant taste in our mouth and a smell.
To get some immediate relief, you may just simply need to brush your teeth, pop a couple of mints or get a good strong mouth wash. If that doesn’t help, you might have a more chronic problem.
Smoking or Using Tobacco
If you use tobacco products of any kind, you should really work to stop. Not only does it give you bad breath but it can cause oral cancer, deep stains on the teeth and gum irritation.
Another cause of bad breath are dental issues. Bad breath can be caused by gum disease, crowded teeth or ill fitting dental appliances.
Bad breath is generally the result of bacteria growing in the mouth. Brushing and flossing is necessary to remove this sticky substance and prevent the smells from developing. Don’t forget to keep those regular visits to the office also for cleanings.
Another common cause of bad breath is disease or sickness. Sinus infections, tonsillitis, respiratory issues and even diabetes can contribute to bad breath.
